How do you live??

I’ve noticed on many of these programs listed that housing is up to you to arrange. If I do not live in the area what are the ways I can work this out, if at all?

Usually housing is offered on-campus, I believe. Somewhere on the program website there should be something about that.

I assume you refer to internships and other non-residential programs. The answer is, you either choose a town that’s near you, or near family/friends you can stay with, or find a place to rent.

Fair enough. I’m having trouble finding anything in area (Nothing important goes on in Missouri…) so I feel a bit disadvantaged when it comes to housing for these distant opportunities.

I understand. We live in a similar area and there are very few internship/research opportunities nearby. I don’t know what kind you are looking for but there are a few programs that are residential, pay a stipend and allow you to do research, though I believe they are pretty competitive.
You may need to create your own opportunities locally. Hospitals, businesses, universities…these are places you might be able to volunteer/work this summer but you may need to reach out and find people there to ask rather than depend on a defined program.
