I’m an incoming sophomore, but better late than never. Most of the time, when I try to keep my room/papers orderly, I usually fail within a few days. I’m usually too tired to put clothes/papers where they need to be. Any tips to being organized consistently?

I use those little cardboard box organizers, one for each class, just dump whatever I need in there.
I can’t remember what they’re called, they’re like rectangles with half of the side cut of the top.

What’s an “incoming sophomore”? Even if you delayed going to college for a year, you’re still an incoming freshman, not sophomore.

But anyway, find some form of organization that doesn’t require a lot of effort, like folders. You don’t have to hole punch or anything. Just have a folder for each class and stick whatever needs to go in there, in there.

Somebody who just finished their freshman year and is about to become a sophomore in the fall…

Hard concept, ain’t it?

Then I don’t understand the comment “but better late then never”

as in, i wasnt too organized with my things during my freshman year, but id rather start as a second year than never try to be organized. lol.

Oh okay, gotcha. Sorry, I misunderstood.

Don’t even try to explain, just let it go.

I’m one of those people who has a set place for everything.

But, I only had to live in the dorm for one full year. With the dorms, I think that less is more, and that caddies and whatnot are great.

Just think of the gist of your stuff…

Shoes go where the little shoe thingy goes (I had portable shelving, because I wear a size ten shoe, and can break those hanging shoe racks).

Clothes go on hangers.

Undergarments go neatly in a drawer.

Books and school supplies (I am including a laptop in on that) go on a desk, and also in a bag pack.

And, your papers go neatly in a binder with pockets or a file folder type of system.

Toiletries go in a portable container that you should place in the closet along with your hamper.

No big deal. The messiest folks I see are those who bring way too much stuff.

I feel like I’m watching Sesame Street…

I messed up and ran out of time to edit my post. I am very sorry for how my other post reads and actually reported it as a problem post because it does not read well at all.

I was trying to say that everything needs to have its place if you have really small living quarters.

Here is an example…

Once again, I am sorry for messing up my post and running out of “editing time.”

Dude, buy some ****ing folders.
