How do you obtain a textbook for the summer if your school doesn't allow you to...?

How do you obtain a textbook for the summer if your school doesn’t allow you to check one out over the summer? I’m taking very hard classes next year so should I start prepping over the summer? I’m most worried about AP Calc, and Chemistry Honors, mabye AP Bio. Anyways, what ways can I obtain a text book for these subjects? I’ve read the review books and I still cannot understand it completely because a lot of information seems to be missing. It’s only a review book after all… Should I attempt to buy these online (used) or are there any other ways I could get one to borrow over the summer?

There are very good deals online for used ones (and if you’re lucky, new ones as well), if your teachers insist on not lending school copies. Check on amazon and ebay (although I typically find the former more reliable). You definitely need a book for bio, and maybe for calculus (since it’s all about practicing problems).

Try www.half.com. I know someone who bought a textbook off that site for $4, and it was in almost perfect condition.

Buy them. Write notes on them. Keep them for when you go to college. They’ll become your life saver some day. Trust me.

Don’t waste your money, GO TO THE LIBRARY!! My local libraries have so many textbooks for every subject, I bet your local libraries do too.

don’t get it from the library, buy one used off ebay, half, or amazon.com; the used ones are near-mint condition (most of them) and a LOT cheaper than new ones

and if you borrow them from libraries you can’t really keep them for that long or write in them

I had good luck with bookfinder4u.com

Get the ISBN number of the textbook your teacher is using next year and search the site using that number. That way you’ll get the exact edition you’ll be using during the school year.

also try www.bookfinder.com

but yes, i also recommend half.com and amazon.com… make sure to get expedited shipping!
