How do you pronounce 'Nassau'...?

I debated this extensively with my parents when we went and visited yesterday, and I figure I don’t want to be saying it wrong when I start at Princeton in the fall, so for the record, is “nassau” pronounced NASS-ow or NASS-aw? My tour guide said it too fast for me to be able to tell…

I believe it’s the latter.

some folks say it: Naaaaa SUH forget the W.

Yup, pretty sure it’s NASS-aw.

its definitley nass-aw

thanks guys…

um its nass-saw, i lived on nassau street like alll my life!

I think it’s usually NAS-sau, but in the school song it’s more like nas-SAU (right?)

Going back, going back, going back to old Nah Saw. Equal stress on each syllable when you sing.

hate to correct you, alumom, but it’s “going back to nassau hall.”

Oh yeah. I guess. I was in Triangle. I swear we sang Old Nassaw. But I’m old. I probably have forgotten.
