You’re on the move. Someone asks you, “Where are you going?” or “What are you doing?” How do you answer them?
If you just tell them the truth, it would be very boring. I’m looking for a smart answer.
The best answer I’ve come up with so far is “I’m going Straight To The Bank.” Yeah I know it’s lame and stupid if the asker never heard of the 50 Cent song.

Um…I always just briefly answer with the truth, say that it’s nowhere exciting, or say that I’m just wandering aimlessly.

No attempt at witty remarks from me…unless, of course, I’m going somewhere I don’t want to and answer Hell :)

1.somewhere
2.nothing

when they asked these questions, they didn’t intend to know the truth

Where are you going?

Crazy.

Questions of this kind are very common in China, just like"How are you?“.Usually nobody really cares about your answer. But exception is there.
Once upon a time, when asked"what are you going?”,I simply answered"go shopping".But the man continued to ask"what are you going to purchase?“,I have to answer"just something…” and he continued"so…what indeed?"

it’s one of the most weird scenes.

I would say what I’m doing, but maybe generalized (out doing errands, eating, homework, etc).

I really hate when people you barely know ask you how you are…it’s not like you can say anything but well/good/fine.

if youre going multiple places, just pick one. i.e., you’re actually going to drop off a movie, the grocery store, and then you’re meeting a friend at the mall. just say, “im going to the mall”

Or you could say " i’m going up to yonder"…

you could say: none of your business!
or: omg omg my grades will be posted on the net in 35 minutes!

I just say I don’t know. I often go one place and then go to all these unexpected places.

I wouldn’t answer. No, actually I’d give a really confused look and pause for a while then say, Why?

If I know them then I’d tell them where I’m going. If I don’t know them then I’d probably give them a weird look, pause, then might tell them depending on whether they look like a weirdo or not. lol

I’d usually just tell people I’m fine or good then ask about them.

1.somewhere
2.nothing

when they asked these questions, they didn’t intend to know the truth

I agree with you.
when they ask these two questions, they just want to start a talk.

John: “Where are you going?”
Me: 'Wherever you’re not"

John:“What are you doing?”
Me: ‘Getting away from you.’

I just tell them the truth. If they want to start a conversation, saying “nothing” isn’t going to help them out.

And then I ask them what they’re up to.

Alternatively, I just tell them I’m off to play NetHack, and then they usually shut up.
