Is there anyway you can turn down your admission online or any other way?

Many people would say that you don’t have to do anything. However, since you never know what may lie ahead, (and what bridges you may have to cross in the future) a note saying that you appreciate that the acceptance but you have decided to go elsewhere is a nice touch.

The best way is a note sent to the Office of Admissions. Either snail mail, or send an email. If you have confirmed housing already, you should notify the office of Residential Life as well. Last year D’s proposed roommate decided not to attend UMD, and Reslife didn’t get the info. I think this happened quite a bit, and it was too bad for those people who were stuck in less-than-ideal situations…it took a good 2-3 weeks until a new roommate was assigned (and ha…D then had TWO roommates assigned at the same time for the one bed, but that’s another long story!!!)
