how do your friends treat substitute teachers?

A sub from middle school from Sweden

This one kid was like “Paul has a knife”

Sub ignores

“teacher, teacher paul has a knife”

sub ignores

“come on teacher, he has a knife”

Mrs. Hesseltine (the sub): Paul, you have knife?

Paul: Uh, no, why would I have a knife?

Mrs. H: Give me knife.

Paul: I dont have one

Other kid: give it to her paul and the bomb in your locker

Mrs. H: bomb and knife? go to office

Everyone laughs and he really has to go and they search his locker and didn’t find anything of course and the kid who made it up was suspended 2 wks…

i loved that

z, i heard that story before. are you plagiarizing?

ah, lb, a clever word play on sub. now i feel amused yet silly
is there a pun in “specific”?

OMG, I know a sub with students who did this in a Spanish class… they regretted it.

Fluent in Spanish, decided to teach them ALLLL the tenses (they were in Spanish II, may I mind you) and an s-load of words. Wouldn’t let them out of class, not even to go to the bathroom. Someone finally gave up the lesson plan 30 mins before class was out.

hahah, no spectrum…I’m not plagiarizing. It happened at my high school during the Nisqually earthquake. Maybe I told the story here before though?

There are certain subs at my school that are generally liked, while there are others that are disliked a lot. This one substitute acts like a military dictator when she runs her classes. She substitituted my English class once. We were taking a quiz, and my friend and I had finished it a few minutes ago. She had told us that we weren’t supposed to talk until the quiz was over. Anyway, I was looking up the answer in the book, and my friend whispers, “What question are you looking for?” cause she was done and wanted to confirm with me. I put down four fingers on my desk (for #4). Next thing you know, the substitute walks over - I didn’t even see that! - and slams MY desk, but yells at her, “PLEASE DON’T TALK UNTIL THE TEST IS OVER.” Gosh. Way to kill the lively mood. Then she goes to the other side and does the same thing to another student. I felt like I was living in a totalitarian regime.

we have a few teachers in my school who are official substitute teachers, and they used to be teachers at my school. so there’s a lot of respect for them and they are really cool (really old too lol). sometimes the 9th graders might act a little fresh at first but once you realize how cool they are, the kids pretty much behave.

don’t really have any interesting sub stories, except for two from elementary school. one was Ms. Shuster (who was an official substitute teacher, so i had her lots of times) and EVERY time we had her, she had this HUGE bag of pretzels. so… we called her the pretzel lady.
also there was another named Ms. Hoffman. i had her once and she was really scary. i remember i was thankful that i was in the Orange (aka advanced) reading level, because during reading time the Orange level kids got to read with the Teacher’s Aide and the other kids had to read w/ Ms. Hoffman lol. and i remember that this girl asked to go to the water fountain and Ms. Hoffman started screaming at her (i cant remember why) and so the girl started to cry. oh yeah and she was fired the next day, for throwing a textbook at a 4th grade boy (!!!)

Depends on the teacher. We have a old Romanian teacher for math that subs in often and he’s pretty cool. But our Japanese subs always doesn’t know anything about Japanese and all seem to be political science majors. We were so hard on the Japanese subs that we would never get the same ones to the point where we couldn’t find any. (Our vice-principal had to bring his work to sub for the class:/)

funny you should mention that-
the class we usually have a sub in,
the sub happens to be (one of my friends)'s father-
And almost the whole class knows him-
And he is STRICT! We treat him with total respect.

But we also have other subs who me totally chill with and do no work with. And then the teachers come back and get all mad.

we’re pretty well-behaved when we have a sub. occasionally, some of the guys would goof around but that’s pretty much it.

we tell our teacher that the sub was a stalker and he sometines believes us

lol 2468, you are a model student
