How does a CC parent spend New Year's Eve??!!

We don’t have lives anymore than our seniors or college admissions folks do this time of year. DS was applying to a school with a Jan 1 deadline and received an emailed reminder today that that meant by midnight TONIGHT. Make sure you double check with exactly what your kids’ school/s require!

Getting quietly inebriated, either in relief or in despair?

No despair, Sop, no despair. New year is a chance to hope.

Lol my mom has been sleeping since 7pm. Looks like I’m greeting the new year alone :)

The same way I did before I was a CC parent! Fire in the fireplace, watching movies.

and checking in on your CC buds…;)

Fire in the fireplace, watching The Twilight Zone marathon on SyFy with my son (HS Class of '14).

2016Barnard mom, watching the Twilight Zone marathon on SyFy alone…DH and DS (HS '11, college '15, I hope) sacked out early. Wimps! :D

We live in Brooklyn, NYC. Drove to Prospect Park and saw the fabulous fireworks at midnight. Then drove the boyfriend home to Manhattan, dodging the drunk pedestrians.

My daughter’s a junior; next year I’m sure we’ll be sweating out the deadlines!

We spent the evening scrambling w DS to get his app done for his #1 school choice (def reach). He started it months ago but still had finishing to do. Had been operating under premise it was due Jan 1 at midnight then an email reminder came from the admissions dean yesterday that apps were due at midnight yesterday. It turns out the notification we received yesterday, Dec 31, to get apps in by midnight yesterday, not Jan 1 as we thought, was incorrect. The admissions dean posted an apology just before midnight. Oh, well. Admissions folks are human, too!

We spent it with youngest dd and her boyfriend playing cranium. We all were quite silly by the end. The wine might have helped… but seriously, we had a great time.
