I know the essay is factored into the English score (right?) But how exactly does this work? Can the essay bring your score up on English? What essay score is needed to do this?

I saw one post where someone got a 36 on English by originally getting a 34 with a 10 on the essay… That’s good because it means the essay can actually bring your English up right?

The English, writing, and English+writing score are all separate.

You’re talking about the english+writing combined score. It’s on a curve so you might not need a 36 on English to get a 36 combined score.

And on a side note, you don’t need to worry about the combined score. Colleges are mostly going to look at the English score.
