I understand that the housing application opens April 11 on Axess. Is there priority based on anything, or is just a lottery?

From what I know about grad housing, if you’re an incoming Stanford grad student (not a co-term) you’re guaranteed your first year of housing, and after that you’re given a certain number of “priority” years based on your program which works basically how it sounds. (You’re given priority for housing but it’s not guaranteed.) From what I’ve been told from the Graduate Life Office, it’s best to direct questions straight to your department/program. Since there are so many different grad student programs at Stanford there’s lots of different policies for aid and housing for grads which usually depend on the length of the program.

(I’m an undergrad tour guide here at Stanford and we just got a presentation from a rep from the GLO giving us some info on grad life for when prospective grads have questions on tours.)
