<p>These could be authentic, but I would not be surprised if they are aliases for someone with an ulterior motive. More likely for Innocent, who suddenly appeared on CC in the middle of this discussion - possibly someone who is trying to repair the negative reputation Duke is getting due to a handful of very vocal, aggressive, self-centered boosters.</p>

<p>You’ll meet many different kinds of people at Duke. The people you meet here are by no means an accurate representation of the general student body. It would be ignorant for anyone to dislike a school simply because a student posts “different” ideas on a random site – without getting a feel for the student body in general.</p>

<p>You know, I never thought much about Duke one way or the other, except that it was a pretty good school and the Southern “wannabe” to HYPS. But the appalling behavior of Duke’s backers on CC leaves me with a distinctly negative impression of the place. Possibly unfair, but EAD and the rest are doing Duke no favors with the kind of trash they’re posting here.</p>
