I attend a small liberal arts college (Assumption College) and I perform exceptionally well. Each class is 3 credits and full-time student take 4-5 classes. I have a 3.89 GPA and have made Dean’sList each semester. Each time a student makes Dean’s List they are offered a sixth course for free, which brings me to the main concern. Does taking on the sixth course look good on transfer applications? It goes without saying that the quality of my work should not be compromised by the number of classes. The first semester that I took 6 classes I was got a 3.9. How do universities view course load in the application process? Is there a big difference?
The number of credits you are carrying each term will not make you look better or worse provided you have an excellent GPA, and are on track to graduate.
