How does Emory University compare to Ivies??

Just curious. Because the Ivy league schools seem to be the standards of excellence, I’m just wondering how does Emory compare with them. I know that Emory is a great school (ranks among top 20 colleges, great campus, etc), but how does it hold up when compared to ivies??

why does it matter?

I doesn’t really… just sort of bored and wondering what the people of CC thought

lol

Hey, are you two related? Same last name and all…

(sorry, couldn’t resist  )

lol

no, I know atleast 2 other people ending with 00… seems to be quite a popular ending

But really, in your opinion, How does Emory compare to ivies??

I think this is the reason that schools like WashU, Emory, Notre Dame, etc get bad raps. People seem to always think that others are trying to insinuate that these schools are Harvard clones and thus they throw the title overrated around and actually end up underrating these schools by saying they should be, and i quote “tier 3 or 4” schools.

To answer your question, Emory is a great school with a great faculty and a great enviornment. It is not Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc…but that isn’t a bad thing. The Ivies are a name brand. Them being a name brand does attract certain faculty and novelties; however that doesn’t mean they are the end all and be all. 2 + 2 = 4 wherever you go. Your success is in your hands. I think that if one had to choose between and Ivy and Emory that the person should give just as much consideration to Emory that they would the Ivy.

Emory holds its own rather well. It’s very strong in areas like religion, classics, art history, medicine/biomedical science, etc. The Carlos Museum is an institution most colleges would dearly love to have, and the CDC next door provides opportunities the Ivies can’t match. Atlanta just built a world-class aquarium, the weather is great, the campus is nice, people are friendly, and the beach and mountains are both nearby. What more do you want? :)

Also, FYI: I’m planning to be a medical scientist

So what u said about Emory’s medical resources is certainly a plus
