My parents have been divorced for awhile and I’ve lived with my mom since I was 4. My main question is will I only have to use my mom’s info?
Depends…
-
What schools are you applying to?
-
Does your dad pay your mom child support?
-
Has your mom remarried?
And “has your dad remarried”
I’m planning on going to Lee University because I live in the same town.
My dad pays child support, I’m not exactly sure how much.
My mom hasn’t remarried, I’m not sure about my dad. We literally have no contact with him, and a restraining order…
It looks like Lee only asks for FAFSA (which will be your mom’s information), and I don’t see any non-custodial parent form at first glance, so that is good. You should run the new price calculator on the Lee website to see what you may have to pay. Are you a senior? There are extra scholarship forms in their website with a due date of March 1 if you are.
@intparent I’m currently a junior.
I ran the net price calculator on big future and if I can get my ACT score up .25 points I’ll only have to borrow $2,000 a year.
Thanks for the help, financial aid is so confusing…
So this is the net price calculator that the Lee website links to? Just making sure.
You should use the net price calculator on the Lee University website.
Also, keep in mind that the net price calculator now is set up for students entering in fall 2016. You won’t be starting until fall 2017. So…make sure you run that net price calculator on the Lee University website again in September or so.
Regardless…for FAFSA purposes, only your mom will be listed on the FAFSA. Any child and spousal support also needs to be included.
@intparent I think it’s the same calculator.
This would be the one to use: https://npc.collegeboard.org/student/app/lee
@“Erin’s Dad” That’s the one I’ve been using. So it is an accurate calculator?
The college is responsible for the accuracy. No one can say for sure for this particular college.
Ok, thanks.
