How does Financial Aid work when one's parents are remarried?

<p>It depends on the school.</p>

<p>If you are going to a school that only requires FAFSA, then you will have to report your Mom and Stepdad’s income and assets on FAFSA. You will not be asked for your father’s information.</p>

<p>If you are going to a school that also requires CSS or has their own financial aid form, then you may also have to provide your non custodial parent’s (and their spouse) financial information. You would have to check with the school to see if they require it (many, but not all, CSS schools will require it).</p>
