How does getting a full time job after college work?

So what happens after college as far as work. Like are you mostly guaranteed to get a good job going somewhere like Wharton?

And how about the average American University like Temple or Drexel? Is it the better you are of your class (GPA wise), the better opportunities and pickings you get?

Could someone please explain?

The way to learn about this is at your school’s Career Office. Every student shall familiarize oneself from day one of what the school’s Career Office has to offer. You will learn about career opportunities, how to apply for permanent jobs and internships, etc. They also have advisors to answer your questions of how to get a full time after college.

It really depends. Some people already have full-time job offers lined up before they even start their senior year of college! By getting internships during college, you can dramatically increase your chances of getting job offers. Other ways of getting jobs after graduation is attending career fairs (which your school should provide) and networking with college recruiters.

It also depends on what you study. There is no average University. Each college and each department has it’s own reputation. Temple’s music department may be one of the best in the country while its economics department is hardly noticed. The international business program is top 10 while the whole business school is top 60.

It depends on your grades and it also depends on what kind of work you want to do when you get out. Every career path is different at different levels of competitiveness. That is based on the popularity of the job or the economy and who companies need to hire.

Start with career services. Talk to your parents. Talk to family and friends. Find someone in the paper who’s doing what you want to do and call them or write them a letter asking how they did it. People respond to that because most people like the idea of mentoring.

Those of us at the ‘average American University’ like Temple or Drexel don’t like to think that we’re ‘average’. That includes myself, thank you very much.

^LMAO! Temple Alum here!!!
