Ok so I got around a 2.9 freshman year (I know not too great) then in sophomore year I got a 3.5, and so far this junior year I ended first marking period with a 4.0 and I plan to end on a 4.1/4.2 Gpa for junior year. If I keep this up through senior year, will colleges who have around a 3.75 recommended gpa consider accepting me? Btw I have a 1450 SAT.
What percentage is the 3.75? Is it the average or the minimum? Do these schools consider test scores as important as GPA? But to answer the question yes GPA improvement is worth something
45% chance at 3.7 gpa and 1370 SAT. Does that help or is that not what you’re asking
I would not say it is a free pass, but I would go on to say that by showing improvement, it makes the colleges believes you will be a big contribution to their community. For example, I know Boston University would accept someone with a 3.6 average, with the grades improving throughout the four years of high schools, rather than someone with a 3.7, with the grades decreasing (I mean like 3.9 to 3.8 to 3.5 to 3.4 without their schedule being more demanding throughout the years).
