Hi, I’m from England and I’m just thinking of going to a University in America and since my dad went to Stanford University I thought it might be a good choice to go there but don’t worry I’m not that close to finalising my decision. It’s pretty obvious that the UK’s educational system and the USA’s educational system are very different, at the moment I’m doing my A Levels, which, I guess, would be the equivalent to College in the States and I would like to possibly go to Stanford after I finish my A Levels. However, The educational system in the United States really has me stumped and I don’t know if I have to take your SATs or take a specific test or anything. If anyone has any ideas about this I welcome them. =) Thank you!

I can tell you that you’ll benefit from your legacy status since your father went to Stanford.

What is the “legacy status”?

Legacy is a child whose parent(s) attended the particular university he or she is trying to get in.
