I am an economics major and I am planning to finish my BA by next fall (3 years and a quarter)
But, I am also considering accounting minor.
say If everything else is the same, how does that accounting minor will help me?
Will it only matter If I want to get into accounting field?

It depends on what you want to do with it. How can you leverage such a minor in an interview or at your work?

generally speaking, accounting is VERY useful in business. Accounting is the language of finance and accountants are regularly recruited to be managers or to head marketing.

I personally hate accounting as it’s too tedious for me, but I do strongly encourage my friends and associates to consider it if they can stomach it.

if you’re an econ major(namely quantitative economics) consider a statistics minor as it’s also very useful.

With the accounting minor, you are eligible to take the CPA exam. With a CPA license, you are a strong applicant already.

If you’re not looking into getting into the accounting field, then there wouldn’t be too much point in getting the minor. It will still look better than a regular BA without any minors, but there are “easier” minors for that.

It will benefit you whether you decide to go into accounting or not. Also accounting minors get more networking benefits.
