I am a semifinalist to study Arabic with NSLI-Y. They have two program locations, one in Morocco and one in Jordan. I was wondering, how do they decide which country you are assigned to? Do you get to indicate a preference?
Hello, Arabic summer alumna here. The academic year program takes place in Morocco. For the summer duration, applicants can’t indicate a preference, and the placement is random (unless a health concern is present in one country but not the other).
You don’t get to pick which country to go. However, if you listed French as a language you speak, you are likely to be sent to Morocco.
