How does NYU feel about an additional recommendation for Transfer admissions?

I heard they very much discourage additional material for freshman applications, but what about for transfer applications? I believe this recommendation adds a lot to my application and was wondering what advice, whether anecdotal or official, people have.

hmmm… well I had an additional recommendation not from one of my teachers… and I was accepted early decision. As long as it’s someone that knows you well and can add something to your application, I don’t see why they would discourage it.

i submitted an additional recommendation (both were from professors) when i applied as a transfer for this spring. i was accepted, so i doubt it’s detrimental to your chances. good luck!

Thank you guys so much! I’ll let the guy know then to submit it. I believe it really just adds sooooo much more to my application that may otherwise be hard to put together or know. NYU is my dream school and so I just want to make it as strong an application as possible.
