How does previous GPA play into being accepted?

I hope this is the correct spot. I’m sorry if it’s not.

The university I’m talking about applying to is Marhall Univesity.

I’ve been to two community colleges. The first I went to at 17 and I wasn’t quite ready for the responsibility yet. I ended up taking 24 credit hours in two semesters and passing zero because I never showed up.

At the second and current community college (now almost 20 years old) I will have had exactly 39 credit hours at the time of transfer and my current GPA is 4.0 (at this school). I’m worried about Marshall basically not accepting me because of my bad moves at my first community college when i was younger, but everyone else tells me that Marshall only wants my transcripts to see what I’ve taken and to see if anything is transferable. Not to find an excuse not to accept me. Am I wasting my time worrying about it?

This doesn’t exactly apply to you, since you have over 26 earned semester hours, but I think you can take away the message that since you have over a 2.0 GPA (2.48, if I calculated right), you should be okay to get in. Good luck!
