<p>Isn’t this the 4th best school in the nation by U.S news? How to people like this get in, I know there are always exceptions but I thought that coming to a school of this caliber you wouldn’t find idiots like this. It just makes me mad. </p>

<p>Kids are kids, no matter how smart they are. Sometimes they do stupid things. Hopefully they learn. But before you get too bent out of shape, consider this picture from an event sponsored by the Chicano Caucus, aptly named “Glass House Rocks,” which was brought to light after said Caucus issued a statement lambasting the Theta sorority for its cultural insensitivity. <a href=“Chicano Caucus at Glass House Rocks - Bwog”>http://bwog.com/2014/02/24/chicano-caucus-at-glass-house-rocks/&lt;/a&gt; And btw, the Theta sorority president has just resigned. <a href=“Theta President Resigns - Bwog”>http://bwog.com/2014/02/26/theta-president-resigns/&lt;/a&gt; From my perspective, this whole thing has been blown way out of proportion. </p>

<p>This thing is unfortunate but it does offer an opportunity for all of us to reflect on how different ethniciities can live harmoniously together and flourish inside of national borders. It’s an issue that affects populations all over the world and has done so throughout the history of sentient peoples. Its always better in this situation if the parties can take a moment, look at each other and appreciate each other for what they are: fellow human beings with similar aspirations for themselves and their families.</p>

<p>Flamethrowers usually do nothing more that create conflagrations. Humor can help if it’s done right but it is very difficult today and therefore potentially dangerous.</p>

<p>They dressed up as different nationalities and that’s offensive?</p>

<p>What on earth was wrong with that?!?!? They had an “international party” and dressed as people from all over the world, and that’s horrible? Lighten up, people, and have some fun. Geez.</p>

<p>No but really, what’s wrong with what they did?</p>

<p>As part of their party, organizers weren’t wise enough to ask people not to dress in negative stereotypes. @showshowshow, @goingmyway, @immasenior: that was where the line was crossed. </p>

<p>I don’t think that there was any hatred being sown here…college kids…even Ivy League college kids…are still maturing…</p>
