<p>I’m just wondering, I turned AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) down my freshman year (even though, looking back, it really could have helped me out). Friends who have been in AVID all four years say it’s a waste of time for the most part but the AVID coordinators continue to stress that colleges “LOVE” AVID. How true is this? If, let’s say, two people with the exact same stats and ECs apply to the same university, but one was in AVID, would the AVID student be more likely to be accepted?</p>
