I’m applying for residence halls in Cornell for my freshman year with my future roommate. We’re interested in Court-Kay-Bauer but is seems that you cannot choose a particular building among coed residence halls. So putting residence halls on preference 1 and explaining the reason why i wanna live in CKB is meaningless? Is there any chance that the school can provide us with preference 2 if CKB is not available?

you end up where they put you for co-ed. sometimes after room assignments come out in June, you can talk to someone in housing and try to switch in case people rescind their acceptance or forgo their deposit–but that would only work if two people wanted to switch out of the dorm you want. In CKB, I think that would be unlikely.

I do think they honor the roommate requests so you will likely room together but it may or may not be in CKB. My D is in Donlon and LOVES it.

All have their pros and cons.

thank you very much!
