How does the whole transfer thing work?

<p>How does one transfer from one college to another?</p>

<p>Suppose I’m in NYU:CAS for CompSci. I want to transfer to Stern for Finance.
How would that work? </p>

<p>What if it is different schools same major.
Rutgers to Stern.
Stern to Wharton.</p>

<p>Stuff like that. Is it hard? What is required of a transfer applicant?
If I do not get into my dream school for my intended major, should I chose a different major in the same school and try to transfer in or same major in a different schools and try to transfer that way?</p>
