How does this SAT II Bio Study Plan sound?

June-August 2013 - Read at least 30 min. of Princeton Review a day. If finished, start Barron’s.

August 2013 - Start Bio H course (I will be in 9th grade this year). Read PR/Barron’s on the weekends/wherever possible for at least 15 min. a day

Winter Break - Finish reading all of PR and most of Barron’s and do two practice tests – one PR and one Barron’s. After practice test, review all answers and find out what I missed.

January 2014 - School starts back up - continue studying like the August schedule.

Spring Break - Do the remaining two practice tests. Find out what I missed and why I missed them.

May 2-3, 2014 - STUDY LIKE HELL and get a good night’s sleep - Bio H course pretty much over at this point.

May 4, 2014 - THE BIG DAY

I’d say I learn stuff pretty quickly. I can usually remember stuff from the PR course when reading it for the 1st and 2nd time. The Barron’s information is harder but not that much harder. I can still understand what it’s saying, but it’s harder to remember. Additionally, I am pretty strong in Biology – prior to looking at the PR book (which is a few days ago), I already know about 40% to half of the stuff in PR, maybe even a little more since I already know the big concepts. I have yet to learn heart structures, flower structures, etc. etc. as well as transcription and translation (forgot) and mitosis and meiosis (forgot as well). Lastly, there are fine details in every chapter that I don’t know, so I have to go over every chapter and know every nook and cranny.

Please tell me what’s good and what’s bad about this plan, and what I should do to make this plan better. Thanks.

My first tip: don’t take it freshman year. There’s no point in taking it this early. You will have enough time to take it junior year, after taking the SAT I. Plus, by the time you are a junior, you can take an AP bio course, which teaches you a lot of the stuff you need to know for the subject test. But if you really want to take it this year for some reason, I think your studying is a little overkill. The bio test isn’t really as difficult as you think. Most of those practice tests in the books you’re studying from are very unrealistic from the actual test. I’d recommend getting the collegeboard guide to all the SAT subject tests and do the practice test in that, because it is a real test and gives you an actual representation of what the test will be like.

LOL! Can’t tell if ■■■■■ or legit. Dude AP Bio first then subject test… you dreaming too far ahead

So yeah, a lot of people take the SAT II Bio freshman year. The third quote I listed perfectly captures my reasoning for taking the SAT II Bio. If I take multiple tests at once, then I won’t have enough time to study for both, and I’ll end up not doing well on either test, or maybe both. I want to take Bio first because I really like Bio, and it comes naturally to me.

If your going to science related studies choose math and science. You don’t need more than two unles one part of app isn’t that great. Your still a freshman so you should be more focused on ECs and school grades before SAT and SAT II

Also princeton review is a joke. I used it for ACT… the way they do reading sucks, but english helped.
