How does UIUC look at ACT scores and retakes?

My first take at the ACT without writing …
Composite - 26
E - 26
M - 27
R - 23
S - 27

My second take with writing …
Composite - 25
E - 30
M - 23
R - 23
S - 25
Writing - 8
Combined English & Writing - 28

My composite went down by 1 point and my math and science scores dropped. However, I scored higher on english.

How will UIUC look at this? Will they accept me with a GPA of around 3.7 with multiple honors+AP+IB classes? Which score will they take and which one should I send to them? I am also an Illinois resident.

Any help will be appreciated. thanks.

It uses that test with highest composite. Engineering wiill also consider a higher math score from other test. Otherwise, sections from other test can be use for placement, e.g., your 30E will be used for placement in Rhetoric. Thus, likely just send both.

ACT is on low side. Can’t tell with GPA (weighted, unweighted, rank?) but course rigor (APs, IBs, honors) is important.

The GPA is unweighted for my junior year and my rank is in the top 5%. Thanks for the reply!
