Some schools I am interested in applying to include
Fordham
Holy Cross
Providence College
Boston college

and I was just wondering how dramatic the difficulty of a school’s admission can change in a year or two

My cousin had an 89 UW GPA and a 91 W GPA and a 31 on the ACT and got into Holy Cross. In a year or two will Holy Cross or Fordham or providence be extreme reaches for my cousin’s level. I saw holy cross as a match and fordham as a safety. will they turn into georgetown and BC within a year or two or three?

It’s really too early to tell because the stats are always changing. What you can do now though is check out the schools websites and see what they are looking for in an applicant. The real way admissions will get tougher is if the applicant pools at these schools get bigger.

No, I don’t see Fordham or Holy Cross getting to the ‘Georgetown’ (22 percent of applicants accepted) level of competitiveness any time soon. Currently, Holy Cross accepts around 34 percent of its applicants, and Fordham accpects around 47. Though, Boston College became very competitive this year (under 30 percent, though I don’t know the exact numbers), Holy Cross will probably dip under 30 percent at some point in the coming years.
