How easy is it to get a job around BC?

How easy is it to get a job in the community around BC? I wanna get a job there so i can make a little extra money on the side.

same question

The primary employers for most students are BC itself. The area surrounding BC does offer opportunity for work, but it’s your standard peon employment (i.e. photocopying, serving foods, hand out flyers) the more glamorous works are in Boston (is this a surprise?) and there are a good number of them. Carying a BC name helps you more than at most schools. The reason is not that BC is SO prestigious, but due to BC’s legacy of educating A LOT of movers and shakers in Boston and Massachusetts, that you get good networking and more careful consideration. If you want the standard low-wage introd jobs, they are there; if you prefer the more glamarous work, but still low-wage, they are there as well. My friend just found some amazing employments in Boston this summer, and has his pick of places to go. When he went job hunting, he practically interviewed exclusively with BC alumnus, and this was not out of design.

Are there (and what kind of) jobs are available close to campus that will allow for a flexible work schedule due to classes?

The largest employer of students is the dining service, they offer several different shifts–from early morning to late night–so it’s relatively flexible. The BC offices also hire a large amount, but it’s open from 9-5 so there are less shifts than dining service, and I don’t know how the number distributes among the different offices. None of my friends who want to work were shut out of employment because of their class schedule.
