How easy is it to get a job with just three intro level CS courses at UCB?

I was told at Calso by a CS advisor that all you need to find an entry level programming job is completion of CS61A, B, and C. Not that I’m planning to go that route, but how easy is it to actually to get a job with just those courses? If its not that hard, then theoretically you can easily complete 1 and a half years of college, then drop out and find a job, right?

Very hard.

An internship, you can get with those though.

If you can show you’re an exceptional programmer, you might be able to find a job at a start-up doing something like testing, but if you’re like most people who’s experience consists of three programming classes, you’ll have a hard time finding a programming job.

A lot of big companies require at least a Bachelors (in anything) for programming positions.

I was also told by another advisor that there are people out there who have only taken the first three intro classes and stil ended up becoming computer programmars. Not sure if that’s accurate or not, though…

Since when were advisors reliable sources of information?

Anyways, taking three intro CS courses at UCB won’t save you from the depths of unemployment, unless you’re a David Karp kind of guy.
