How exactly does this work?

I have read on college board that you now have the privilege of choosing which SAT subject test scores to send…

What is the process exactly? How can you actually decide which score to send to your college of choice when on the test day you have to fill in the college code or whatever?
Sorry I’m confused I’m taking the SAT 2 bio this October and I’m all confused=(

Help!

Thanks

CollegeBoard’s ScoreChoice allows you to choose which Subject Tests you want sent to which colleges; you do this when ordering score reports online (not on test day). Some colleges accept ScoreChoice and others do not (look at their websites). Does that help?

^Does this scorechoice option apply to any colleges, even ones that want all testing history? (i.e. Yale)

Thank you, I will call NYU on Monday to double check if they accept this (I’m sure they do!)
But schools like Yale and other ivies for the most part want all testing history…=(

I think you can use ScoreChoice as you choose, but some colleges tell you NOT to use it… yeah, too bad about Yale, but Harvard and Princeton are okay with SC

Score Choice allows you to hide any Subject Test score or SAT score (all three sections or none, though). Colleges don’t know whether you have used Score Choice, but some nonetheless do not want you to use it.

I’m confused say I want to go to NYU and I write their code on the sat subject test. But are you supposed to write all colleges you might want to attend? What if i take the test and say i don’t write down Brown University code will I not be able to attend that college?

-Thank you

In your hypothetical situation, you do NOT have to write down Brown University. The four free score reports that you fill in on test day are NOT the only score reports that you can make. After you’ve taken a test (AFTER Test Day), you can make additional score reports to as many colleges as you want. Unlike the ones on Test Day, these score reports will charge you a fee. So you can send a score report to Brown University even if you haven’t written it down for the four free score reports on Test Day.

It’s actually suggested that you don’t use the four free score reports unless you know that you’re going to get a really good score on the test you’re taking. It’s better to wait until you’ve taken all your tests BEFORE sending score reports to college; then you can decide which ones to send to which colleges.

Hope this helped!

Thanks but can you give me a website where I can read about this? I just want more info…

Thank you!=)

I’m not sure which part of what I said you want to read more about… This is the official College Board page on Score Choice. There’s a Q&A on the bottom of the page.

[Score Choice - New SAT Score-Reporting Policy](Send SAT Scores to Colleges - SAT Suite | College Board)

Also, if you scroll down here, and click “send scores to colleges”, you’ll see the exact prices for sending additional score reports.
