How exactly does Triple Tuition work?

Hello,

I have a question that my advisors either don’t know how to answer or don’t want to answer. I have googled this online but haven’t found any useful information.

I heard that there is a rule where if for example I was to go for a degree that requires 125 hours to graduate and I go over that amount by more than 30 hours, (limit is : 125+30 = 155 hours) then anything after that would be triple tuition…

But is triple tuition flat rated as well or not? For example at the college I am looking at 1 hour credit costs $1000 but 12 hours costs $4000 and 20 hours also costs the same $4000

Lets say that my last semester I have to take 20 hours that GO OVER the 155 limit… All 20 hours will be triple tuition but is it $1000203 = $60,000 or is it $4000*3= $12,000 ?

Does anyone know for sure?

It’s probably a rule in your state system so there should be someone in your state system you can call.

Why would you be going of the required amount anyway?
