Are there courses available during the Fall/Spring semesters that aren’t available for the summer sessions? I’m looking primarily at computer science and math.

summer sessions usually only have major pre-req classes open. it is so that students who couldn’t get into or didn’t take those classes in the regular semester to catch up in the summer.

math classes are usually always up there since its a pre-req to like everything science related. computer science core classes are usually available too. you just don’t have as many ‘fluff’ courses that aren’t necessary.

but there are some courses that are ONLY given in summer. For example, IB majors have to take one course from a list to address the evolution and genetics degree requirement, with IB 141 offered only in summer having the lightest workload (3 units when all the others are 4) and chances for highest grade (important if one is a grade whore or pre-med).
