Is it really possible to attend UTexas OOS for the same price as Rutgers instate? Tuition differential is over 20K/y. Are their merit scholarships for OOS students more generous than Rutgers instate scholarships?
A few disparate points:
–I would say to please spare us political commentary based on falsehoods.
–You can study abroad (at some state schools and/or in some programs at in-state or cheaper rates). National Student Exchange also exists. You can do both those for a whole year at a time.
But hey, if you can get a full-tuition scholarship, go for it. 'Zona sounds pretty neat.
It is at least theoretically possible for a NJ resident to earn merit scholarships that make both schools have a similar net price, but that is probably a very rare case.
As RU also gives out merit scholarships (some quite generous), the possibility that an NJ kid would face a choice where UT-Austin and RU are the same costs is very low.
