How far are you in your application?

I hate the Hotchkiss short answers :sob: :sob:

They are fun but soooo hard!!!

I agree!

DS is done with all of his parts, but we are still waiting for a teacher’s recommendation. :unamused: I think between short answer and longer essays, he wrote 17 total. Five of those were variations on a core story.

I’m also still waiting for 2 teachers unfortunately :unamused:

Same, and mine have never write a rec letter before.

I’ve written and submitted essays for 8 out of 10 schools I’m applying to - only Choate and Deerfield are left (which is funny, because of their rivalry!).

I’ve got my LORs from all of my teachers except math (I’ve reminded her twice, but she’s taking her time.) My dad handled all the parent questionairres back in September; I still don’t get how he was able to do so much work so quickly, it’s January and I’ve still got 2 essays to go :sob:

I loved the Hotchkiss application, personally. I think that was the one where the most of my personal character came through.

And when I first saw the hotchkiss application in october, my brain also went to “oh crap”, but I feel like writing all the other essays + some big personal experiences, helped me get a much better handle on my personal identity (the first love and loss is really an insightful time) and i got a lot better at it.

Finished editing all my essays except for 3 schools, my dad is still working on parent statements and I’m going to help out with that too for grammar and stuff.

I’m got all my LORS in except from my Guidance Counselor and Math Teacher (I’m applying on Ravenna and Gateway, the both submitted only on Gateway so I need to remind them about the Ravenna one).

ALTHOUGH my counselor said she doesn’t have time to submit my grades on Ravenna which is very dumb, should I screenshot my prior grades or download the form and sent it to the schools I’m applying to on Ravenna (Concord, CSW, and Commonwealth)?

That’s rough :sob:

I would email the schools and ask them if you can just email the grades to them directly. That’s what I did because I was in the exact situation as you and they said yes.

Thank!

Of course! Good luck!

It is hard when the recs are out of your control. For my DS, his teacher gave him awesome comments on his report card and he already submitted the Ravenna rec. We’re just waiting on EMA and Gateway. We are keeping a positive mindset that he is taking his time and crafting something great.

It’s so frustrating. Hopefully the teacher submits his recommendation soon.
