How far are you in your application?

Second time I’ve created a new thread today but I’m wondering how far everyone else is in their applications :slight_smile:

Last year, I was grinding at this exact time on every one of my essays. I ended up submitting my Deerfield essay at 11:59 the day it was due. (I was waitlisted) You should be pretty much done though, if the due date is 1/15 .

Obviously can’t speak for anyone else but I’d personally say I’m nearing the finish line–there’s no more information I need to fill out, I’m essentially done with my essays (still working on editing), all except for one of my recommendations are in, and the only thing I still need to complete is a violin recording for submission.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get an earlier test date and have to take the SSAT on the 20th. The schools that I’m applying to accept scores from January, though, so I should be fine. I also have three more interviews. :')

Granted, I did start the application process late (mid-November) because I wasn’t aware that boarding school was even an option for me until I consulted with my advisor.

Do you know if schools take late submissions or submissions that are close to late into account in the admissions process?

I have my main essay for every school and planning to finnish every essay by january 10th! I’m also going to send my résume this weekend as well as my rec letters!!

May I ask what you’re including on your resume? I’m finalizing mine right now and I don’t know if I’m missing a section.

Basically finished all my things, just editing my essays and waiting for the remaining recommendations from my teachers to get in. I’m also going to upload some materials from music, swimming, and other stuff, along with that I’m gonna contact some people again with follow up emails, etc.

DS finished all of his essays over break and everything is in, except for the English teacher recommendation. They confirmed they are submitting this week.

I finished all my essays but still have the short answer left for half the schools :sob: I started so early but still procrastinated.
