How far away do you want to go for college?

Anywhere out of Idaho. I will refuse to go to college here. I am thinking about Washington
or somewhere on the east coast.

First wanted to get to Boston… like 45 minutes away ^.^ but its SOOO much different and better than this tiny little town I’m in…

o.0 I wanna live in hawaii now

I’m in Virginia, and I think I’ll be staying in Virginia because of money.
I may be interested in New York (NYU) or Pennsylvania (Temple), but I really doubt I’m going to either of those places.

I dont know your stats, but Temple is very generous with full rides/near full rides for top students.

Switching from west to east coasts.

i doesn’t matter to me really. not much of an issue

eh, it’s not really a factor. i’d love a change of scenery, and while i certainly don’t plan on staying close to home, i won’t rule out a college just because of its location…

5-6 hour drive away

2-3 hours away I think

Most of my schools are in CA… So pretty far, I guess.

Out of the country! Unless something drastic happens, I’ll be going to university in Scotland.

My backup school is still ages away, on the east coast.

I want to leave the state, and perhaps the region, as both are full of rednecks and cornfields.
I do have schools in the Midwest, but they are the exception on my college list. My CLOSEST school is an hour and a half away, while my furthest are numerous and on both coasts.

Optimally, 2-3 hours away. It seems that I will be going 12 hours on a train or a long flight though, because the two schools have offered me great merit $$$

I’m a Marylander and I want to go to California (esp. NorCal).

Interestingly, I live in NorCal and I want to go somewhere else, mainly schools in the midwest with a few on the east coast. I have yet to visit them, but I’m interested in WUSTL, with Northwestern, Brown, Swarthmore, and UChicago not far behind. As amazing as Stanford is, my parents swear that they will visit me every weekend, and living 30 minutes from such a school is somewhat frightening to say the least. If you’re coming to Cali from New England, or the Northern midwest states, be sure not to take your heavy winter clothes! In fact, some winter days we come to school with a T-shirt and a thin hoodie.

definitely not the south or west (im from the east coast). but far enough so i can dorm and not go to the state university thats in my backyard.

I woudl just like to get out of California and go to a college in the northeast, where the weather is coldddd and frosty and 20 degress average in the winter :]

What einnob said! :)

I live in the DC-Metropolitan Area and seeing as there are some good schools around here, I don’t see any reason to go further than 2 hrs. from home.

Besides, I love the DC area and there are so many opportunities here for those interested in government/politics (like I am) so it’d be a waste to go across country for college … only to come back a few years later.

The choices I’m looking closely at are: Georgetown University, George Washington University, Johns Hopkins University, University of Virginia, University of Maryland and College of William and Mary.

In ATL, mostly Southeast with the glaring outlier that is Philadelphia :D
