How far away do you want to go for college?

While some change would be nice, I kinda enjoy these 70 degree winters.

8 hrs and three states away (if you count the state i live in as one)

Whoever said they wanted to experience the Northeast’s 20 degree winter seriously needs to reconsider…

We don’t have 20 degree winters. We have 5 degree winters at peak hours. I remember a few weeks ago I saw -15 degrees. :frowning: TOO COLD>

I live in Las Vegas, but I’m originally from Jersey anyway, I lived 6 years in NJ and all my family is still there, which is why I’m going to school in Philly, the East Coast is so much better than the West Coast in my opinion, my parents won’t visit me, and I’ll get to be more independent…

The original plan was for me to go out there for college and then they would follow me back to the East Coast, however, my mother has gotten a job with the city so now they won’t leave…

Anywhere out of the country (New Zealand). I love living here but I’ve lived for almost my whole life. I mean, maybe America or Australia or wherever I end up going might not end up being so great but I want to be able to find out for myself.

I’m in NY and love being close to Manhattan, because there is so much to do. But like anything when you grow in the same area all your life, you are looking for a change. I wouldn’t mind schools up in boston or down by DC. But i take it east coast is probably all the same wherever you go. maybe cali would be nice… random thought, do people ever think outside the country?? only reason i ask is cuz i think someone mentioned cambridge…or another

I want to go to school far enough that I’ll only be able to visit once a month, at most. At least an hour by train.

2-3 hour drive.

I haven’t set a specific distance (i.e. x miles or y hours), but I want to be far enough that it’s too far to drive there and back in one day- but farther is better. I live in NJ, and I’ve applied to schools all over. Oh, and nothing in NJ.

I wouldn’t say I wan’t to get far from home because I don’t like it here. More like, being a distance from home may be nice ( introduced into a new area) and feel more like I’m in college. Problem, my top choice Michigan State University is just 10 minutes from my house. My other top choice University of Michigan- Ann Arbor is about an hour. I like University of Michigan- Ann Arbor distance more, including it being top for pre-medicine. Although I also like Michigan State University campus, and I’m sure they are well in pre-med. So yeah University of Michigan- Ann Arbor is not too far, nor too close.

a 10 minute drive haha

as far away as Boston/Cambridge happens to be

According to the maps feature on my iPod. I would be going 2011.9 miles from my house to my dream college.

^ what’s your dream college?

Upenn lol.

good luck
10char

I’ll go at least half a day’s driving away (possibly across the country) if I get into any of the schools I really want to go to. If I only get into state flagship (or my parents make me go there for the money), I will be 90 minutes from home. I want to be far enough away that I won’t be expected to visit on weekends or anything like that.

22 hours. Pretty much halfway across the country.

i MIGHT consider the moon too far, pretty much :p
