How far can I get with just a 2400 and 3.9?

Assuming all else (EC’s) is not spectacular, but not bad either.

Instant Berkeley at least? UChicago?

What’s Instance Berkeley?
Do you actually have SAT 2400 and 3.9?? Also U of Chicago puts a great emphasis on essays, so that means if you screw up essays completely you won’t get in UChicago.

Washu maybe a good fit though because its very nice to high scorers.

Most top schools (universities and LACs) will downplay the score and look at your extra curriculars (you’d need a state-level or national-level achievement there, at least). A 2400 is extraordinary for testing but the most selective schools don’t really care if you have 2400, 2300, or 2200. They know, whichever score you got, that you meet their baseline. The next cuts are the harder ones.

You have a chance of getting in anywhere with 3.9/2400 assuming the 3.9 is UW and is backed by a rigorous schedule, and you come across as an interesting person with a promising future. Strong ECs are by no means mandatory.

Without seeing the rest of your credentials, it’s impossible to know whether this might apply to you or not.

Berkeley: Match
UChicago: Reach (pay attention to your essays)
