How far would you have to fall to consider yourself a failure

I’m a community college student so I’m already well below the standards of everyone here but what do all you overachievers consider failure? a B in organic chemistry? a job out of college that makes less than $100,000 a year? going to Duke instead of Harvard? being second place on the math team?

Dropping out of high school and doing nothing with my life. Just the fact that you’re going to community college doesn’t mean we university-ers are any better than you. You’re still headed in the right direction

I think a failure would be not pursuing what you wanted to pursue, and becoming a lazy drug addicted bum who had all the opportunities to do something in life but instead chose to be a drug addicted bum.

You could go to CC and still accomplish a lot. Heck, even people who dropped out of college with a plan of action have accomplished a lot (uhm Bill Gates, Steve Jobs?)…

um probably losing my scholarship ( i have to keep a 3.5 which is a B+ average, so im kinda nervous). but in all honesty, some of the smartest people i have known have gone to a community college. it takes more guts to do that sometimes. Hey and dont insult Duke lol jk, i wanted to go there for FOREVER, but alas money kills many dreams.

If I wasnt going to school at all, I’d consider myself a failure.

What sour words, did someone on here get to you?

"What sour words, did someone on here get to you? "

no, i just felt like ranting about the ridiculously high standards people have again

Also I don’t consider myself a failure, I’m getting good grades and will transfer to a much better school than most of my peers’.

If I was never able to repay the debts I owe.

getting a 99 on a test. hehe jk.
if i dropped out of college

I’d only consider myself a failure if I were not able to accomplish what I want in life, and if I were unhappy with myself.

If I dropped out of school and was working the graveyard shift in the fast food industry flipping burgers for a living.

Spongebob is NOT a failure.

Once I’ve given up, then I’m a failure. Until then, you can’t lose until the game is no longer being played.

If i continue to do something I hate and don’t have the balls to do something else.

XD
if this were facebook, i would like this.

you’re a failure only when you see yourself as one. ;)

Working for a limited income, living paycheck to paycheck, working at a job I absolutely hate, and not being able to parent my children.

I go to a community college but I’m more successful than 98% of my peers simply because I have the income and opportunities to do what they only dream of doing. I don’t think college has a role in determining success since success is an individual idea.

I don’t plan on graduating from some prestigious university but I have goals in mind and I know how to reach them.

community college is successful for a sustainable peaceful life. nothing wrong with that.

but if you want something more…

I don’t need to fall. I’m there already.

I also go to a community college, and I plan on transferring. If I get rejected from any of the schools I want to get into, I will have nothing to live for. Education is my only chance at getting a decent job. I have no work experience and I am anti-social.

IMHO, it all depends on what you major in that decides your future. I know Ivy leaguers who aren’t making any more than people who went to State Us. Just because you go to a CC doesn’t mean anything. It means that you had a bad high school experience. Im pretty sure everyone has had one because high school sucks ass.

A person who succeeds is the kind of person who knows his strengths and weaknesses and tries to pursue something that fits those standards. Figure out what you are good at and do what you can do that values those skills. Its not an easy task, but in the end there is no greater reward than doing something you are good at and you love -this is my definition of success.

The real failures are the people who waste their natural abilities or pursue other goals because they are forced into it. Just be yourself, believe in yourself… and make it happen.
