Sorry if wrong forum, but just a question i’ve had. I’ll be applying to colleges like Georgia Tech, Georgia, and Emory.

Varsity Tennis Team Captain 2yrs

Varsity Tennis Team MVP 2yrs

FCA (fellowship of christian athletes)

~180 hours helping with special ed students at local elementary school

~105 hours of helping 1st grade students at local private christian school

Working at Chickfila 2yrs

Chess Club 1yr (quit after favorite teacher retired and nobody went)

National Honors Society

Very good because your tennis is amazing. Your FCA may sound meh on the surface, like the guy above me said, but it actually shows that you have a lot of passion for sports. Good job!

On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being “I found the cure for AIDS status”, and 1 being really generic and boring / no real commitment, here is what I’d rate them. I would consider a 5 as “solid”.

Tennis - 6.5
FCA - 3.0 (I don’t really know what this is, so I could be wrong)
Volunteer Hours - 5.0
Work - 5.0
Chess - 2.0
NHS - 5.0

Overall, considering what kind of a time commitment you had, and how interesting your EC’s were, I would give you a 4.0–though, that could go up to around a 5 depending on how often you worked at Chickfila. For the places you are applying, that should be fine–but there will be a substantial number of people applying with “better” ECs than you.

You definately have a clear passion - Tennis. Just make sure to contact the college coaches, you might get hooked. (That is you might be recruited as a athelete).
If i’m wrong someone please correct me. I’m just adiving from my experience reading CC posts, I myself am applying this year.
Good Luck
