How good of a school is Boston Uni?

Do they have a good International Relations/ International Law program?

How does it compare to universities like NYU, George Washington, American, and other colleges on the east side?

They have a “general studies” college which is a joke. What’s not a joke is its price-tag, 55k.

So it’s not a good school?

Depends on what you define as good. They accept 58% of their applicants so it’s definitely a wise safety school! But if you’re looking for financial aid, don’t go there.

Okay, I probably won’t apply if it’s a mediocre school that costs as much as higher up colleges.

A silly approach.

Boston U is a perfectly good school with superb programs in a number of different areas (e.g. marine science, archaeology, music, and communications), and it’s reasonably generous with merit aid. NMFs get half-tuition, which is nothing to sneeze at ($20K, to be exact).

It is a very urban school and not for everyone, but if it suits you, why not apply? Their financial aid does seem to leave something to be desired (loans seem to be slightly higher than normal), but it never hurts to add a safety or match, and I doubt its peers have significantly better aid. You’re not obligated to attend if admitted, and one could certainly do a great deal worse.

How is their International Relations program?
