I live in California and I am unfamiliar with schools on the other end of the country. Does this university compete with such schools as UCLA, brown, UC Berkeley? Are my stats good enough to even match the competition?

You have better chance of getting into Berkeley/UCLA (I’d be really surprised if you don’t get into UCLA) than Northwestern given you are from Cal. Brown and Northwestern have similar test scores/class rank but Brown’s acceptance rate is substantially lower (16% vs 29%).

Northwestern is a really great school… it is #10 or 11 in the country… i bet you could get into northwestern with great essay/recs (stats seem about on par with most applicants, in my opinion, which is good)

He said this about Columbia: “although I don’t know why you would even apply there. I visited it . It SUCKS. VERY ARROGANT + restrictive core curriculum. Plus the people are stupid(at least the student tour guides)”

This about Princeton: "So far Pton isnt looking too good in eyes and heres why
overly snobbish and preppy atmosphere
-dorms suck ie have to up or down a few flight of stairs to go the bathroom+ crowded
-lets face it Pton, NJ is not a typical college town. It is a few streets of gingerbread houses around the campus. Typical suburbia mixed with mid atlantic snobbery - not a good combination. Plus , when you get to the highway there’s nothing there. Just a gas station and some low income housing
-rationing of grades is completely unfair and unjust"

This about Amherst: " I visited amherst. Its not that great. SO what if they discuss philosphical stuff, we do that in ap english already. It just does not stand out."

Haha.

So Sempitern, what school are you going to?
