How good is this?

I am a co-captain/president of my high schools engineering team.

We are currently nationally recognized by the following things:

2nd in the nation in the National Engineering Design Challenge twice, in 2007 and 2006
Received a $6000 grant from MIT’s Inventeams program, 2007
Champion of MCC high school engineering competition, 2005

In being captain of the team and playing active roles in the teams success, I was curious as to how this helped in the admission process.

I know that national awards/ recognition are important for HYPSM, but I do not have national awards beyond AIME and National AP scholar after junior. I DO, however, lead my nationally recognized high school engineering team.

Is the national recognition of my team of which I lead enough to be a strong pull to HYPSM?

Another question is, how does being on the team as a regular member help? Does it at all?

thanks for posting this? it will help, obviously. nobody here can tell you how much though, so i’m not sure what you’re asking?

Does this help in the same way being nationally recognized individually for something such as piano language or math.
