I don’t know about prestige, Dickinson probably isn’t well known to people outside of the east coast.
Difficulty of courseload probably depends on major. Most science majors I’ve talked to consider the courses to be extremely demanding. And at Dickinson each course is worth 1 credit - whether it’s an English course that meets 2X a week, or a biology course that meets 3X a week plus a 3 hour lab. Unlike the majority of colleges where 12-15 credits is considered a full time semester, at Dickinson 4 credits per semester is considered full time. I do know of many Dickinson grads who have gone on to well known graduate and professional schools and done very well. Like anything else, you get out of it what you put into it.
