I get relatively good grades, and practice with our town’s high school JV tennis team, as a current 8th grader. When I was in the 6th grade, I was stupid enough to use my friends ECig on campus. As a result, I was suspended. This was the only infraction I had ever had at that school, except for receiving a demerit for being tarty. Even if I stress how much of a mistake it was, how greatly will this affect my application to a school with a 67% acceptance rate?

Unlikely to have much of an effect…
Assume you mean “tardy.” Being tarty will affect your admissions chances differently.

Touché, @skieurope. You beat me to it. :)

I was going to say that they prefer sweet over tart, but then I looked up the meaning of the word. :-S

JC1212, you don’t say what was in the ECig you smoked, but if it was hash oil or any other narcotic substance boarding schools may well pause before inviting you into their community. E-Cigs are the scourge of many campuses these days, as adults play catch-up to this current method of sneaking drugs in under the guise of a less serious tobacco offense. If your issue was a one-time tobacco offense and you are able to be honest that you made a dumb mistake you aren’t interested in repeating, it probably won’t doom your admissions chances. But do know that school personnel are on edge about E-Cigs, and if you are applying to a campus where it’s a particularly sensitive issue, they may want to discuss it with you.
