How hard are these AP classes ?

Currently as a sophomore, I’m taking my first AP class (Biology) along with 4 other Honors classes and I’m aceing them all . I’m kind of nervous about next year , because I don’t want my GPA to drop . As a junior , I was recommended for 4 AP classes , along with 2 Honors classes , and Chamber Orchestra . Can someone please give me their input/opinion about any of the classes that I’ll be taking next year ? Maybe some study tips ? Any advice is greatly appreciated ! (:

Classes:

AP VA & US History
AP Calculus AB
AP Chemistry
AP English 11
Honors Physics
Spanish IV Honors
Chamber Orchestra

Honestly, it is all up to the teacher. A difficult teacher can make a subject very difficult, and vice versa.

What in the world is AP English 11?

AP Chemistry, according to many, is “hellish”, for me not that bad.

I can only speak for the three out of the ones listed that I have taken.

AP Calculus starts off a little difficult, because it is brand new. It can be a lot to take in, since it is math like you’ve never done before. After you’ve learned the material, though, it isn’t as bad. I had trouble with it from the beginning, but now I find that it is much easier.

AP English 11 (I’m assuming you mean Language and Composition) isn’t bad at all. Just practice analyzing rhetoric and literary devices through multiple choice questions like those found on the AP exam, and practice essays from prompts of past years. Practice your writing; that is most of it.

AP US History is a lot of memorization of time periods, as well as significant people and groups. It isn’t as hard as it is time consuming to go through all of the facts, but if you have a good teacher you will learn a lot and find that you really know more than you think you do.

I hope that helps somewhat.

We can’t tell you how hard the class is, because your teacher basically determines that.

But if you want to know how difficult the AP tests are, then we can help there.

What’s AP VA & US history? Virginia? Woow lol

AP US History and AP calculus aren’t that difficult. If you have a strong math background then AP calculus shouldn’t be a problem. As for AP US history you have to know a lot of information and be able to make connections. Just know how, why, and what caused something to happen and you’re good money.

I would assume that you’re in a precalculus-type class. Since you’ve said you’re acing all of your classes, you should be fine in Calculus AB. Even if the teacher isn’t too good, you should be able to get some of it on your own, since it seems like you’re pretty good at math.

I’m a sophomore in 4 AP and 2 Honors classes this year. It seemed really scary when I first signed up for all these classes, but once you get started, it’s not really that bad (especially if you have CC as a studying tool). Good luck!

AP US history isn’t that bad if you have a good memory. If you don’t though, you’ll have to study a lot. Also, get the ASMCO book. It’s like the textbook (The American Pageant) but without the flowery language so it’s shorter and easier to understand. If you don’t have time to read the textbook, read the ASMCO book. Or just read the ASMCO book if there’s something in the textbook you don’t understand. You’ll also need to study a lot before the actual AP test if you decide to take it.

AP English 11 is pretty easy. There isn’t a whole lot of work, but you have to look back at your work to figure out how to improve. Your teacher might tell you what you’re doing wrong, but you need to figure out how to fix it/make it better yourself.

AP VA -???
APUSH - ^like strawbearries said.
AP Calculus AB - probably have to be math-oriented to understand the concepts. Computation/Calculation is straightforward.
AP Chemistry - considered hard if you don’t understand the concepts.
AP English 11 - if you’re a good writer and a good analyst, you can get an A.
