How hard is it to add a double major from L&S to CoE?

Hello,

I was notified of my admission to Cal L&S today! I was originally going to apply for ME in the CoE, but was pressured into not applying for the major.

How hard would it be to double major into the CoE for Mechanical Engineering? And how would I go about that? Taking ME classes?

Unlike IEOR or EECS, ME does not have an L&S analogue major.

It’s possible. I’ve done it, although this is a few years ago.
Taking the courses that ME’s would take is a must, along with convincing personal statement why you want to switch. Naturally the question will be why do you want to switch into CoE when you applied for L&S in the first place. Give an honest answer, although it is a matter of spinning professionally.
