My Guess Is Pretty Easy… Im In My Second Year Of An Electrical Engineering Curriculum At A Community College…transferring To Virginia Tech In The Fall As A Junior… Never Took The Act/sat… Im 24 And Interested In Becoming A Marine Officer And Meet All The Qualifications Except This One… Im Going To Buy A Book On The Act,

But Is A 22 A Averege/below Averege Score On The Act…

I Heard Act/sat Knowledge Is Stuff You Learn In Hs… Not Calc. Phys. And Engr…

22 is slightly above average. Shouldn’t be too hard to get. If you haven’t done anything like it before, I’d suggest going through a few review books beforehand.

No, you can’t use your TI-89 on the math portion.

Take all the practice “science” questions you can. You’ll need some practice in the format the ACT uses for science questions. These questions are different from any “science” questions you see in other places. With your background, I think you can do well on the science if you get a feel for what they are asking and how they are asking it. There is a chance there will be one basic physics question on there, but right, no calculus, no engineering.

You will do well on the math. I have heard that ACT math is at a little higher level than SAT math, so that should help you.

I think you should have no problem coming up with a 22 or higher.

(Taking the ACT is more painless than the SAT - it’s shorter.)

My recommendation is to go over a Princeton Review or Kaplan book and figure out all their strategies. I highly recommend Cracking the ACT by Princeton Review.

The ACT tests you on how well you can take the ACT, even though they say that it tests what you learn in high school.

It should be very easy to get a 22 on the ACT if you have a good foundation in Math and Reading principles and if you prepare for the ACT.
